Pennsylvania has committed to significantly cut its climate pollution to help stop catastrophic climate change.
Our leaders must take bold action today to put us on the path to meet our goals by 2030! Will you take a brief moment to tell the Governor and your elected officials that you support a robust Climate Plan that prepares Pennsylvania to lead the clean economy for our future?
The effects of climate change are undeniable: heat waves, school closures, floods, agricultural losses, wildfire smoke, and health issues. The only way to combat these is to introduce a comprehensive Climate Plan for Pennsylvania’s future that puts the state on track to meet its climate goals.

Governor Shapiro has a strong record of taking critical action to reduce the effects of climate change, but Pennsylvania must go further, faster to cut pollution. If we want to meet our 2030 emissions goals, decisive action must be taken now including:
These and other programs targeting polluting sectors can all be part of a strong state plan to aggressively tackle climate-and health-harming pollution in an equitable way that makes sense for Pennsylvania. A diverse workgroup organized by the Governor, that brought together organized labor, energy industry representatives, environmental protection stakeholders, and consumer advocates, found that a cap & invest program like RGGI would be optimal in addressing pollution from power plants.
A state climate plan that leverages opportunities like RGGI to cut climate pollution across high-polluting sectors can also be bolstered by federal funding from the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and, in turn, can help attract even more competitive federal and corporate dollars into the state for investment. We have the tools and technology to dramatically slash pollution across all these sectors coupled with unprecedented investment opportunities coming from the federal government and major businesses and investors.

The benefits afforded us through the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law must be paired with state policies to help ensure Pennsylvania meets its climate goals. States with leading policies will also see greater investment and be more competitively positioned to lead the global clean economy. Other states are taking advantage of these programs and implementing climate pollution policies that will better leverage these investments to cut pollution and create clean energy jobs.
Pennsylvania needs to claim its spot as a leader in both clean energy jobs and reaching ambitious climate goals.
